Shelby County has posted positive numbers for home sales in the third quarter, according to real estate reporting company Chandler Reports. Shelby County saw 4,176 homes sell from July 1-September 30–a figure that’s up from 3,556 homes in 2011 at the same increment. So far for 2012, a total of 16 percent more homes then sold to this point in 2011. The Memphis movers are optimistic that buyer confidence is picking up again, and that the economy and added jobs are fueling home buying desires. Home prices and total revenue are also both up in comparison to 2011.
The highest activity was generated this past quarter by Collierville county. Our of Memphis neighborhoods, Germantown East performed the best. The only area under-performing in the region is new home construction sales, where the change year over year was relatively flat.
