Youth Villages, a Memphis based nonprofit that provides child welfare services has just received a $42 million grant to expand its program that helps youths who are too old for the state system of foster care and transitions them into adults.
The program is based in Memphis and currently serves 12 states–Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Now, with the funds donated, the program hopes to expand into New Hampshire, Arkansas, Virginia and Oregon.
The Memphis movers are extremely impressed by the generous donation from The Day Foundation to help aid those who are struggling to transition from the state system into adulthood. Memphis continues to shine as an example of altriusm and sharing, and we’re proud to call the great state of Tennessee home. You can learn more about the organization and also make donations at the official Youth Villages website.
