If running and jogging is your go-to pastime, then you have moved to the right place. The Bartlett, TN local movers know how often Tennessee hosts race competitions and 5K races. This March, there will be three different races around Memphis for you to choose from, all benefiting different causes. If you are in the running mood, check out our list and choose which ones you’d like to become a part of.
St. Mary’s School Gobbler 5K
This year, join St. Mary to raise money for the Nanette Quinn Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was originally started by the student council who wanted to honor one of their beloved teachers. Nanette Quinn was a part of the St. Mary’s family for 29 years, serving both as French teacher and sponsor for the student council. The Gobbler 5K was born to honor Quinn. The scholarship in her name is dedicated to young women who attend St. Mary’s, as well as a portion of the proceeds going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For those interested, the race will take place on March 4 at 9 a.m. hosting food, music, and games for all attendees at the end.
Germantown Half Marathon & Mayor’s Cup 5K
As one of the races around Memphis this year, this 5K and 13.1M will take place on March 12, beginning at 7:30 a.m. There will be a grand prize of $5,800 at the end of the race. The remaining proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics. After the race, winners will receive medals for their efforts. All attendees are welcome to join in the celebration for delicious food and music after the races!
Harwood Dash for DisABILITY 5K
From start to finish, this 5K will be benefiting children with disabilities in the Mid-South. The money raised helps provide education, support, and therapy for kids with disabilities, as well as their parents. The Bartlett, TN local movers say this run will be held on March 24 in the Copper-Young District.
