The number of single family homes sold in Memphis for the month of November 2012 at a 6.2 percent increase over November 2011. Additionally, the Memphis movers have learned that the median closing price for homes in the area was up 18 percent, at $95,000. Most of the November transactions involved existing homes, and new homes only comprised 60 of the properties that sold—down from November 2011’s 66 homes. New home pricing has also risen, with prices averaging around $283,000+ compared to November 2011’s $225,580.
For year-to-date sales, the city of Memphis has garnered $1.79 billion, which is a 19.3 percent rise from 2011’s comparative $1.5 billion in profits.
