Premiere Memphis Moving Company – 901-248-0548

Last night at the Oscars, a piece of Memphis was voted by the academy as the best documentary feature of the year. “Un-defeated,” a made in Memphis football film, is a underdog story focusing on Memphis businessman Bill Courtney and his experience as coach of the Manassas High School football team and the inner city athletes that he trained.

The moving film has been described as a tearjerker for men. The film premiered here in Memphis during the India Memphis Film Festival last fall, and will reshow here at Malco Paradiso. The Memphis movers are excited to check out this acclaimed film.

One One O’Six Lofts Condominiums, located at 92 S Main St and 96 S Main St, has sold at a foreclosed price of $1.5 million to Community Bank. The total property is comprised of nine condominiums and a commercial space. The Memphis movers have learned that the North Mississippi bank invested in the property in 2007, and when it fell into foreclosure they purchased it back.

The previous owner, BJN LLC, defaulted on a September 2010 loan and resulted in foreclosure. Any changes or developments that the bank has decided to do to the property have yet to be announced.

The Fresh Market is not the only grocer looking to infiltrate the Memphis market. The Memphis movers have learned that Publix may have their eye on moving into the state as well. While no confirmations have been made by the Publix camp, it’s been said that Memphis is an area that they would like to be the supermarket of choice for Memphis residents.

Currently, Publix has stores in Nashville, Chattanooga, and Clarksville. Right now, the closest Publix to Memphis is in nearby Alabama’s Buff City. It is still 155 miles away. Fresh Market is definitely coming to the area, and hopefully soon we will know more about a potential Publix.

According to a recent report by the Associated General Contractors of America, Memphis is one of the US metro areas where construction employment is below ideal. But the Memphis movers assure you—we are not alone! In fact, 329 of the 337 metro areas surveyed also are below peak.

The metro area in Memphis—which even includes a region of Arkansas, has fared better than other US areas, but not as well as it should be. The Memphis area hasn’t been at peak performance since 1998—well over a decade ago. Then, the top industries for Memphis were construction, mining and logging, with over 27,000 employees occupying these fields. December of 2011 saw construction employment at 21,300 people.

The BizJournals article also shared that the Associated General Contractors of America are lobbying for more infrastructure construction. This would allow general contractors the ability to complete highway, transit and aviation construction duties.

Deanna Caswell’s family has acquired semi-celebrity status in their suburban Memphis neighborhood, all thanks to a family of chickens she moved into her backyard three years ago! Neighbors of the Caswells have become fond of the chickens who can be heard clucking enthusiastically at feeding time; however, Deanna didn’t become a chicken keeper for the popularity! One reason why the Caswells moved the family of chickens in was for their eggs. Her five chickens produce eggs that are better than store-bought options. She attributes the higher egg quality to the nutritious diet she feeds her feathered friends which is considerably more favorable than what egg factory chickens eat. Another reason Deanna chose to raise chickens is her kids; she wanted her children to have a greater understanding of life and of food and its origins. “I don’t want [her kids] to think it just comes from the store.” Deanna says. Your Memphis mover here thinks backyard chickens are neat; it would be nice to see more mini-farms like Deanna’s while out relocating our customers!

According to a new RealtyTrac report, foreclosures are declining in the Memphis area. As far as foreclosures go locally, they seem to have dropped in occurrence by 34 percent from 2010-2011. By December 2011, foreclosures were at their lowest level in 49 months.

As a whole, Tennessee has 13,562 foreclosed homes on the market. Tennessee is ranked below the national average, where 1 in 634 houses file for foreclosure. In Tennessee, it’s 1 in every 885 homes.

The Memphis movers hope that our city and state keep on the upside of US foreclosures. Currently, the highest foreclosure rates are in California, Nevada and Arizona.

In a recent report by CNBC, Memphis ranked as the second-least expensive city in the United States out of urban areas. Data was gathered from 309 urban places throughout the US on topics such as housing, groceries, utilities, transportation and other factors.

Which city beat Memphis? Harlingen, Texas. Last year, Memphis was recognized by Bloomberg Businessweek as the #18th most fun and affordable cities in the US. The Memphis movers love the Memphis culture, nightlife, and lifestyle–and we think you will too! Come enjoy the perks of a big city without the price tag.

For 2011, housing market reports showed that the Memphis, Tennessee area has had an increase in mortgage applications. The steady pace of building and buying in Memphis makes it the exception to the rule, where many metro areas are burdened with overbuilding and vacancies.

Thanks to a healthy local economy filled with transportation and distribution, as well as the airline industry and a bustling music scene that make Memphis a city that seems to have gotten a lot right when other cities were (and are) floundering.

Today, sixth graders from The Wilson School in Clayton are enjoying the day off of school in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Your Memphis moving professionals are sure that the kids are enjoying the extended weekend, but these particular sixth graders will surely be paying their respects to the late MLK following a field trip to the Civil Rights Museum. Wilson students visited what was once the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968. Kids were awestruck during the field trip, especially as King’s famous “I See the Promise Land” speech was played on a portable stereo while students gathered below the front porch of room 306 (the sight of King’s assassination.) Your Memphis relocation specialists are glad The Wilson School of Clayton’s sixth graders were able to truly appreciate the meaning of today’s observance. These students definitely earned the day off of school today if you ask your Memphis area movers!
